It is difficult to answer this because each situation and each child is different. what works for one may or may not work for the next. However, when we look at the overall advantages it becomes easy to see that in most situation homeschooling can be the best choice for the children.
Homeschool provides one on one support and teaching that is nearly impossible to find in formal education. With homeschooling we find the ideal goal of small class sizes and dedicated teachers. This is something that formal education attempts to mimic by using tutors, after-school programs, and special programs. Yet none of those can compare to the education that comes from a teacher who truly cares and has more at stake than a job, from a parent who understands their child in a way that no one outside the family can begin to. The special care and one on one support can help a child to grow and develope in their own way rather than forcing them to conform to the cookie cutter standards expected by mass schooling.
Homeschooling allows more freedom for exploration and the pursuit of knowledge. While in formal education there is a strict schedule that must be maintained, often meaning that subjects are glossed over in order to move on to the next lesson. If the students are interested in learning more they must do so on their own time. This is often a struggle when school takes up the majority of the week, free time after school is filled with homework and assignments, and there are numerous extra-curricular activities that most children participate. On top of that even those who are genuinely interested in learning more are often "burnt out" from the formal education during the week. When they do find a free moment most simply wish to unwind and not try to learn more. With homeschooling, on the other hand, there are no strict schedules or time tables to adhere to. Children can focus more on a subject that interests them without cutting into their free time.
Having a looser schedule can also mean that homeschoolers have more freedom to live than those who must stay within the formal school's schedule. Homeschoolers are free to vacation at any time during the year, they are free to slow down or stop due to illness, family problems, or stress without worrying about missing what others are learning. Creating their own schedule means they can enjoy a flexible lifestyle that can give their children an advantage. They are free to take classes, go to camps, participate in groups,
