The Video Game language, Vime, is generally broken down by game genre. Every genre has some specific Vime words and phrases associated with that genre, for instance, FPS games have some words that Simulation games lack. In fact, even other gamers can get confused when they're talking about games that are of unfamiliar genres. However, there are still a large number of words and phrases that are fairly universal across the genres. Let's look at a few of the more common words and their meanings:

AFK : Away From Keyboard. It's generally considered impolite to go AFK during a
game without notifying the others if it would affect the game; A Free Kill
(rarely)

creator, but other times it is group consensus. Sometimes referred to as kick.

character. Probably came from RPG games, but it is used across a broad spectrum
of gaming genres now.
