The following terms for Helium’s Write & Rate Reward-athon promotion are a supplement to the Helium User Agreement. Your participation in Helium’s Write & Rate Reward-athon promotion is subject to all terms and conditions contained in the Helium User Agreement.
For the period of 23.59 GMT on January 7, 2008, through 23.59 GMT on April 14, 2008 (the “Promotion Period”), Helium is offering starred members a promotional payout for every article submitted (and accepted) to Helium (the “Promotional Payout”). Please see the description of Helium’s Star Members to learn more about how to earn writing and rating stars on the site.
All Helium members can participate in the promotion by submitting articles during the Promotion Period. Only members who have earned any number of writing stars and a minimum of three (3) rating stars are eligible to receive the Promotional Payout.
To receive Promotional Payout, your Helium account information must include your full name, postal address and phone number.
If you are not already a Helium member you can join Helium at any time during the Promotion Period and participate in Helium’s Write & Rate Reward-athon.
The Promotional Payout per article submitted during the Promotional Period is determined by the number of writing and rating stars you have earned by 23.59 GMT on April 14, 2008. Your number of writing or rating stars at any other time during the Promotional Period has no influence on the final payout. Each writing star you earn will increase your Promotional Payout per article submitted to the site.
You will earn the Promotional Payout only on articles that are submitted during the Promotional Period and remain active on the site at the end of the Promotion Period. (Clarification: Leapfrog articles do not count as articles submitted in the Promotional Period.)
During the Promotion Period Helium will make periodic adjustments to your Helium account reflecting your balance of Promotional Payouts based on your current writing stars status. The final balance of your Promotional Payouts will not be known until the end of the Promotion Period. You will be eligible for payment of your Promotional Payout to your PayPal account following the end of the Promotion Period and not before.
This special promotion and its Promotional Payouts have no influence on earnings you might otherwise obtain from your articles. If you have invited other writers to Helium via Invite a writer™ and those writers earn Promotional Payouts via this promotion, you do NOT earn a bonus based on their Promotional Payouts.
As with any content submitted to Helium, Helium reserves the right to remove content for, but not limited to, the following reasons: plagiarized content, duplicate content, off-topic content, poor-quality content and inappropriate content.
The final determination of your Promotional Payouts at the end of this promotion is conditional upon Helium’s acceptance of your articles and star status as they appear at 23.59 GMT on April 14, 2008.
All Promotional Payouts will be paid as a lump-sum deposit to your Helium account.
Payment structure:
- 1 writing star = $1 per article submitted between Jan. 7 and April 14
- 2 writing stars = $1.50 per article submitted between Jan. 7 and April 14
- 3 writing stars = $2 per article submitted between Jan. 7 and April 14
- 4 writing stars = $2.50 per article submitted between Jan. 7 and April 14
- 5 writing stars = $3 per article submitted between Jan. 7 and April 14
Example: You have 0 stars on January 7, submit 300 articles during the Promotion Period, and earn 4 writing stars and 3 rating stars by April 14, 2008. You will earn $750 from the Helium Write & Rate Reward-athon.
Articles submitted or assigned to the following channels or subchannels on Helium are not eligible for Promotional Payouts under the terms of this promotion:
- Creative Writing
- News (under the channel Politics, News & Issues)
- Recipes (under the channel Food & Drink)
- Religion and Spirituality
