In partnership with the nonprofit community, Helium is defining what it means to be a citizen journalist. We bring together the worlds of traditional news reporting and community-based journalism to create a home for journalists of every caliber. Helium and its partners elevate local, national and global issues for citizen journalists to report on.
Through the Helium Journalism Awards, you can raise awareness of your organization and get unique content for distribution in your publication, news syndication, website or email newsletter.
Feature a new topic every month with specific article guidelines, requirements, timelines and prize structures. Encourage constituents to write, and watch your content grow. At the end of the contest cycle, you select the winning article from the top 10 highest rated. You can present the winning writers with a customized citizen journalism award certificate and a cash prize.
Helium works directly with each partner to help manage the program, develop effective titles, create a prize structure, and promote the contest internally and externally.
Helium will… promote the partnership to its members through advertisements on the site, promotion in its Community boards and internal email newsletters that reach more than 300,000 active participants. Helium will also raise awareness externally through media relations.
You will… promote the partnership to your constituents! Helium will provide you with assets and resources to help you promote the partnership on your website and in your email newsletters.
You can access Helium’s self-service, co-branded Marketing package on the right-hand side of this page.
