Partner Program

Chesapeake Service System's (CSS) mission is two-fold. First, it is to provide meaningful work opportunities to people with mental retardation and other severe disabilities, enabling them to reach their full potential in a less restrictive environment that maximizes independence. Second, it is to advocate for changed perceptions and inclusion of people with mental retardation and other disabilities in the community so that the community sees their ability rather than the disability.
CSS' vision is to make sure that all people with severe disabilities are accepted into their communities and seen as equal. This can only be done by eliminating the negative stereotypes that people have regarding people with disabilities.

CSS achieves this by providing opportunities for people with severe disabilities the chance to reach their full potential in work activities that they enjoy. CSS believes that every person with a disability is a whole person and has the same hopes and dreams that each person has.
