Why do some people choose to be ignorant about the lifestyles of others? Some people may feel its easier to not know than to try to understand them. Some may feel disgusted by those lifestyles so may not want to understand. Others may simply not know any better.

The world is in constant change. And fear is the number one cause of being ignorant of those changes. This ignorance can reveal a little something about these people that they may not know exist about them. Something may have happened in their past or they know someone with this past. Anything could have caused this fear and won't let them go. There could be many reasons for that.

Hearing things on the news, seeing people act in strange ways that are different from how we live, and knowing how our friends will act with our knowledge can determine how we feel about new things in our lives. When we are raised by loving parents who were only with each other after being married, it would be hard to understand how two couples would want to do things with other couples. When a man has loved his wife since kindergarden, it would be hard to understand how two men could have those same feelings for each other especially when he was raised by those same parents.

People fear things that are different from what they knew all their lives. When they are face-to-face with something new, they see it for what they think it is and begin assuming things they don't know. Being ignorant is a choice but it doesn't have to be that way. People are quick to judge and forget that those people also had their own lives and had experiences that were similar but took different paths making them who they are. No two people are alike and because of that lifestyles are different. What they do and like don't make them all that different, they just like and do different things. They still have feelings and love just like everyone else.
