A world without humor would be a world without sunshine, and we all need, as much sunshine in our life as we can get.

There are people in the world that do not see humor in anything. I do know a person who rarely laughs, she is a not a pleasant person to be around. The room could be rolling in laughter and she would be in a corner all sour faced and not seeing the humor, that everyone was seeing. She is an elderly lady now and a alone, because of her choices. When she does laugh you could almost hear a pin drop, for people in the room are in so shock, to see her laugh or even smile. Then we all whisper that really had to be funny for her to laugh. She has a personality that can put a damper on good mood very quickly.

Now her husband was a different story, he was the complete opposite. He find humor in everything. He always had a smile, would tell a good joke or would just see the humor in something. Nodody was a stranger to him. He would always greet you with a howdy do and a smile. He would always laugh at the smallest thing, he had a great since of humor and was always cheery person to be around This shows how opposites attract.

Children learn from there parents how to inner act in life. They are taught when it is appropriate to laugh and when not to. If there is no laughter in the house they are not going to how to respond to things. The daughter of this household tries to be just like her mother. She is an adult now, and if her mother is in the same room, and something funny happens. If her mother does not laugh, she will not laugh. But if her mother is not around she will laugh all the time. She would laugh at something if her dad did. But took her queue mostly from her mother.

There were two boys in this family, one will laugh at anything. But the other it has to be awful funny before he will laugh. When they were at home, they would laugh but not as often. But now, that they are grown, and are away from home. They see the humor in many more things.

My dad was always cheerful person, he would laugh at anything. There could be a moment when something wasn't really funny. But by the time my dad was done cackling the room would be rolling in laugher, laughing at him laughing. Everybody loves to be around him. I had people say your dad is the most cheerful person I know. He is so much fun to be around.

There can be a situation that is very sad, such as a funeral, and then something funny can happen and for a few minutes, takes your mind off of what is going on. For example, my aunt had passed on, and as we pulled into the cemetery, my cousin horn decided to blow. It was stuck and he could not get it to stop. He didn't find it so funny but the rest of the people in the car were absolutely rolling with laughter. We all said good old Aunt Maudie was just saying her good byes. You sometimes have to see the humor in an embarrassing moment.

Humor can bring out the best in all of us, without humor we would live in a very dull world. They say that laughter makes you healthier and to have a longer life expectancy.
Some say after a good laugh, well I'm cancer free for a few minutes. If its true that 10 minutes of laughing a day will make me lose 2 kilograms annually. I'm not going to give up laughing. Laughter has so many benefits, so if you haven't laughed today. Try to find something funny you'll feel so much better.
