In a quest to help others get healthy, holistic practitioner Dr. Stewart Edrich, DC, discovered that feeling good often requires far more than a proper diet, exercise and vitamin supplements.
Edrich, who operates Holistic Health Solutions clinic in Los Alamitos, CA, believes there are five systems in the body that must be balanced in order to experience excellent health. They are the meridian system, chemical system, structural system, nervous system and cranialsacral (respiratory) system.
Edrich works with each body system in a variety of ways. He utilizes chiropractic care, homeopathy, acupressure, herbs and other natural healing processes to help patients. Once the systems are all working at their optimum levels, Eddrich is convinced a person will begin to experience a sense of health and well-being like never before.
In his 15-year practice, Edrich has assisted patients in healing everything from chronic pain to allergies to digestive disorders. He said the most common ailments he has treated include hormonal imbalances, hot flashes, acid reflux, migraine headaches, thyroid problems and insomnia.
Edrich's treatments also have helped individuals lose weight, as well as deal with the side-effects of chemotherapy, like nausea and pain.
Although he holds a doctor of chiropractic degree from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, Edrich said most of his expertise has come from hands-on experience. He believes that upon graduating, he knew just enough to get started. Over time, he said he has encountered many health problems that spinal adjustments alone could not correct.
Edrich's passion to help others restore their health has led him to participate in ongoing classes, clinics and seminars on all types of natural healing. He has studied everything from nutrition and reflexology, to applied kinesiology (muscle testing) and herbal medicine.
"The whole trick to getting a person better is to look at each of these systems in them and find out where they have imbalances," said Edrich. "If a person has a problem, I want to be able to find the cause of that problem and fix it. So far, I've been getting great results."
Of all the healing techniques Edrich practices, he said the one he finds most effective for chronic or acute pain and many other health issues is Meridian Micro Point Therapy (a form of Korean hand acupressure). To bring on fast, drug-free relief, he combines this therapy with applied kinesiology, herbs, homeopathy and nutrition.
