My Day
This morning I went shopping, my list in hand
I knew what sales I wanted, it was all planned
The family was gone from the house at eight
This day is for me, it's going to be Great!
The phone rang, I had time to answer it

A moment
A time for reflection
Precious
Between appointments.
I look at my timetable
It reads
Solid
Not a single empty space.
I have more consideration
For others:
I schedule time
for them.
Me Day
A slow lazy day of time for me
is no trip to the spa and salon,
but moments taken consecutively
for a languishing bath, potions galore,
eyebrows plucked, toenails groomed,
make-up, hair, Burberry perfume,
my favorite blouse,

There has to be a light
Somewhere,
A light that I've not seen,
A light that parts life and loss,
That goes beyond between...
There has to be a door
Somewhere,
Upon which I have not knocked,
A door that opens just for me,

Could this be?
Can I make time for me?
Shall it be in dollars for all to see?

Rhyming!
I see you like a little rhyme,
I do it almost all the time,
linking this word with another,
seeking subtle though I smoother,
many lines with clunking rhymes,
but as I grow so will my lines...
come waffle in the waffle thread,

Sunday morning, lazy day
wondering what to do today
read the papers, lie in bed
or let your mind just drift instead
no interest in a shopping spree
maybe rise and make some tea

Private Party

No one but me here floating in my happiness, I'm so high loving myself
I'm having a private party.
Enjoying this freedom of knowing myself and what I'm capable of.

Being Selfish
Making time for myself,
It feels as if I am being selfish
I hide away from the rest
Being Selfish
I turn the music up
I tune them out
