I worked my way through college at Chili's and then some. In my time there I covered the gamut working as a waiter, bar tender and cook and I even trained new people in all positions as well so I can really speak from experience being that I have not only tried every item on the menu but I have prepared them all as well.

Here's what you can expect: A Brinker owned (not a franchise) restaurant will give you a clean and consistent dining experience. In other words, you can always be confident tht a Chili's will have a clean kitchen and a staff that meets a fairly decent standard of cleanliness and professionalism. They buy quality food from respectable vendors and prepare it consistently in all of their restaurants.

The food is good and if you stay on the guiltless menu it's fairly healthy and served in decent portions. My favorites are the margarita grilled chicken and the chicken sandwich 86 tomato and honey mustard sub non-fat honey mustard and corn instead of fries. That's another thing, don't be scared to manipulate the menu to your liking. Every waiter knows restaurant short hand and it's pretty simple feed the order into the computer too. If your waiter can't remember it, it's their own damn fault for not writing your order down.

The drinks are pretty good as well. The Presidente Margarita was my favorite, most of the new drinks have too much going on. Naturally they keep the beer cold too.

Now here's the down side. If you've been to one Chili's, you've been to them all. As they expand to every tiny town on the highway the rod the land scape of individualism and towns of their character. If a Chili's recently opened in your town congratulations, your town is now like every other city in the country. Take my advice, definitely go there a couple of times but keep frequenting your local haunts, you won't miss them until they're gone.
