Where have all the honeybees gone?

While everywhere else in the world bees are disappearing.... I have appearing bees!
One honeybee colony came to my land to live!
(I considered this a miracle of sorts and No they are not Killer Bees.)

Last summer honeybees came to live with us on our little six acre,semi-wooded, patch of land. They made a home in a stack of old tires next to a tree near my herbal garden. I like many others, have watched many a television show on the subject of vanishing bees, had many a conversation, and spent many hours learning about the disappearance of our beloved pollinators. The "experts" say that they are certain the bees are ill but are unsure as to the cause or the details. Research is frantically ongoing while the rest of us worry.
When "my" bees appeared I worried about their health, so I started doing a little extra research on the matter and read some hopeful and interesting news on bees that are raised organically.

Organic Beekeepers say that their bees are not disappearing and their hives are healthy and intact. Those who raise bees organically state that non organic Commercial Beekeepers have been using methods that allow for many different kinds of problems to occur. They claim pesticides, hive keeping methods, genetic crops, ect. all play a role in the disappearance of our bees.Their theory is that Commercial Beekeeping methods are causing the bees to become ill and that is why they are disappearing. One explanation that is offered is that the bees go out to gather pollen and are to sick or disorientated to return to their hives.

I do not know what is happening to the other bees but here is what I do know- I have a healthy thriving honeybee colony. I also have plenty of frogs, butterflies, and bumblebees. (I hear those are also disappearing) I do not use pesticides on my land. I have worked very hard to maintain and encourage a healthy diverse bio-system here. I planted more wildflowers for the Bees. I planted a lilac bush and plum trees near the hive. I will be planting clover this year as well. I do not have a "lawn".(My rabbits would be very upset if I had a "lawn")Whatever nature put here is what grows here. I choose to think that the reason the bees chose our place and not our neighbors or anywhere else is because we have a healthy natural place for them to live, eat and grow.
