I am really proud of the fact that I am still a caregiver to my mother. I have been helping my elderly mother for the past 7 years and I still am thank God. I have been there for her in the good times and the bad. The only help I had was from my elderly father until he passed away in 2006.

Now I do not get any help I am the only caregiver, oh sure I have to call for advice. But I am with my mother most of the time. It has taught me how to patient. It has taught me how to be self-reliant. It has taught me how to be strong. I have learned how to make very important decisions.

I am very proud of my care giving skills. I am able to give advice to other caregivers I have met. I have read many articles on the subject. I have read many books. I have even done my own research on the Internet.

I never knew I would be able to do this for someone. It is a awesome responsibility. It is not to be entered into lightly. A caregiver should have a strong trust in the Lord. A caregiver should know who to turn to when things get out of hand. Do not worry, there will always be someone there for you to help you.

I am proud of the fact that I know who, when, and where to get the help I need. I feel confident in my abilities as a caregiver. If I had to do it for another person, I would be able to. I feel it is a gift from God to be able to care for another person and there needs.
