Easter falls at such a lovely time of the year I would imagine that having a birthday on Easter will always have more good points than bad.
I know that some people complain about having a birthday around a holiday because they don't get as many presents as they would if their birthday fell at a different time of the year. However, if we really look at the calendar, there is a special event going on every month and if people want to get too involved in special days there would always be a reason not to purchase a special gift for someone we love.
In January most people are low on cash because of Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and/or New Year's parties. Then there are all the football games, supper bowl and all the parties that are held to celebrate each game.
In February we have St. Valentine's day, and the beginning of lent.
March bring in St. Patrick's day, and fasting during lent or other religious holidays.
In April we usually have Easter and/or Passover, spring break and many of us will have a bridal shower to keep our minds occupied.
May brings Mother's day, Communion, confirmation and Memorial day celebrations.
June we celebrate Father's Day, graduations and weddings galore.
July we start the Summer with the 4th of July as well as the beginning of vacations.
In August, we have more vacations, as well as putting money aside to purchase clothes for school.
September brings Labor Day as well as books and school supplies, tuition and other incidentals.
October brings all the excitement with the World Series, and Oktoberfest and all the Halloween celebrations.
As we enter November we have the elections to keep us busy, Veteran's Day parades and then of course our celebration of Thanksgiving which runs into the start of holiday shopping.
Of course in December we have Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa and we are so busy that most December babies feel like they are gypped the most.
Thus, if we really stop and think about it every month has a special day when we would want to or not want to celebrate a birthday along with that special time of the year.
It would all depend on the families we come from, will they combine the day we were born with the special day we are celebrating that month. If we are lucky every year there will be reasons to celebrate each even in a big way.
Easter comes at a beautiful time of the year, there is new life, the trees and flowers are starting to bloom and we all have a feeling of better days. Most of us are tired of the long winter season and we welcome the longer days and milder climate.
Of course a birthday is always a time to celebrate the gift of life and each year should bring more meaning to our lives because we are still here to celebrate the wonderful gift we have been give. The main thing is to celebrate our special days with caring people who love and respect us not only on the day we were born but every day of our lives.
Sometimes we may not see those we love because we have moved away from each other, but it is such a warm feeling to receive that wish in the mail or on line with a big hug and kiss wishing us a Happy Birthday. As we get older we don't always look for or expect gifts, but a card with a nice sentiment is always nice to receive.
