If you are a fruit fanatic and love all types of different fruits then this is the perfect recipe to fit your taste. You decide what to put in your fruit salad and you can also control the amount of fruit you put in. There is absolutely no right or wrong way on how to make a fruit salad. Here is my personal favorite recipe.
Ingredients for Salad
1 pound container of fresh strawberries
4 large bananas
1 bag of seedless red grapes
2-3 fresh medium peaches
1 large can of pineapple
4-5 medium sized apples
1 pound container of fresh watermelon
1 pound container of fresh cantaloupe
1/4 cup granulated sugar
Ingredients for Fruit Dip
Caramel
Chocolate syrup (preferably NesQuik)
1 small container CoolWhip
Making the Salad
Chop, slice, or dice the fruits into bite size pieces to fit your standards. The grapes do not necessarily need to be cut since they are already of an appropriate size, but if you have smaller children that will be eating the salad, I would recommend cutting in half to prevent choking. Once all fruits are the size you want, throw them into a large plastic bowl. Add the sugar to the salad. Carefully mix the salad until all of the fruits and sugar are blended well together. Chill the fruit salad in the refrigerator until cold.
Making the Fruit Dip
Heat the caramel for approximately 30 seconds to keep from burning in a small microwaveable bowl. You want it soft enough to make stirring easy, but not too soft or burnt. Once heated, add approximately 3 tablespoonfuls of chocolate syrup with approximately 5-6 tablespoonfuls of CoolWhip. Stir until well blended.
Once this is finished scoop the desired amount of salad into a bowl, grab a fork with your dip, and enjoy!
