Reflections: Thank you to my friends

Ok. What can I say? When it comes to regular friendships I'm not your normal woman. I don't have female friends that I hang out with. All my friends are miles and miles away from me. I like it that way. I have had female friends hurt me in the past really bad and I prefer to keep my friends at a distance. And to be honest I'm probably not your "typical" friend to them either. I have a slightly warped sense of humor. For instance, I make all my friends call me the "Queen of Ohio" and tell me how cute I am, daily. Does it come from being with my Mad Magazine look-a-like husband for 8 years, the fact that I have 8 kids, or am I just that lonely? I tend to tease my girlfriends and pick on them harmlessly, daily. Its not something I consciously do, I honestly can't even help it. But they know I love them and when it all comes down to it, I'm there for them as they are for me.
The thing is, I have one friend that if I could have her near me, coming to my door for coffee-talk everyday I probably would. Her name is Catina. I won't tell you what I call her because I'd never be allowed to write publicly again. We met on the internet 12 years ago playing a game on AOL. I was very new to the internet and she taught me everything I know now about computers and the joys of inter-netting. She's been an awesome friend to me despite my sense of humor.
When I first met Catina, WoW! I can't believe I still remember her real name, I've had a nickname for her since practically day one. Anyway, when I first met Catina, she lived in California and I'm the Queen of Ohio. We'd talk on the internet daily and on the phone constantly. And one day, she sends me a picture of herself. Oh my goodness! It was as if I was looking at a picture of myself! Not only did this girl get my jokes, but she looked exactly like me too!
And this girl's a character, too, without really meaning to be. She comes up with "new" word inventions every other week. Her conversations about her 5'1" husband are a constant source of entertainment, for both of us. And if trips to the doctor for the weird things that happen to her constantly were dollar bills, she'd be a millionaire.
It took 12 years but she finally lives 90 minutes away, because awesomely enough, her family is from Ohio! Now I get to see her, and her Oompalumpah as often as I want!
The best part about having a friend like Catina, is that well, to be honest. She's as weird as I am.
