There are many ways to get inexpensive bridesmaids dresses.

1. Search online. Depending on the number of bridesmaids, you may be able to find something on Ebay, overstock.com or other similar sites. The only downfall to this is that you have to judge the dress from pictures online instead of seeing them in person, but you could save a great deal of money.

2. Chain stores such as David's Bridal often have sales at the end of every season. If you have a year or more to plan your wedding, this would be a great way to buy dresses.

3. If you have a seamstress in your family, you could buy material and have the dresses made. If a family member takes the time to make your dresses, you should consider that your wedding gift and also be sure to compensate them. If they will not except cash payment, perhaps a gift certificate would be appreciated.

4. Keep in mind, all of the girls do not have to wear the same dress. This is especially good to consider when all of the girls have different body types. As long as they all wear the same color or tone, you could experiment with everyone wearing a slightly different version of a dress. If you go to a sale, it may be hard to find the same dress, but the same color, in slightly different styles may not be as difficult.

As always, when picking out the dresses, be sure to let the women that will be wearing the dresses have a say in what you choose. After all, they will be wearing them, paying for them and keeping them.
