Tax Relief
Tax week is here and it's "Tax Madness" with trying to find ideal tax help for a cheap cost or an even better free. But with a tight deadline from February 7- April 14 who has time to find the right company, and no matter how much you've prepared there's always the unavoidable rush at the end, thankfully help is on the way.
Internal Revenue Service (IRS) now has community outreach programs that help with your tax for free! Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA), Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) and The Armed Forces Tax Council (AFTC ) are income tax systems that are not particularly based upon the ability tax principle, and is a training course in basic tax preparation. It's a program for people who cannot prepare their own tax returns. It has skilled volunteers sponsored by various organizations standing by to help. They've received training to help prepare basic tax returns in communities across the country. Although these programs are from the IRS and help with your tax, they are all significantly different.
(TCE) is designed specifically for persons that are 60 or older mainly those held in homes or retirement communities. What's immense about this program is that if a person is unable to come to a local site the volunteers will even go to their house.
(VITA) is for taxpayers who cannot afford paid professional assistance, like the elderly, having low or fixed income (no more than 38,00), not being able to speak English, disabled, or have other special needs.
(AFTC) consists of the tax program coordinates for the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, and coast Guard. The (AFTC) manages the company of the military tax programs worldwide, and serves as the main means for outreach by the IRS to military personnel and their families. Marines, Airmen Soldiers, Sailors, guardsmen and their family can also receive free tax with their investment. (AFTC) also helps with combat zone tax benefits and the effect of the New Earned income tax credit (EITC).
For the last 30 years Seattle University and its accounting students have been providing the local community with a priceless tax preparation service. Its former accounting, Professor John Harding, established (VITA) in 1975.
