Why planting trees is great for the atmosphere

The earth, Animals and the birds need trees.
______________________________ __________
Trees protect the earth from excesses of the other elements: Water, Air & Fire. Trees have a balancing effect on the elements as they react with earth.
Trees slow the movement of water by drinking it and then releasing it slowly back into the atmosphere. They also protect the topsoil from being washed away by heavy rain.

Leaves contain nutrients that are washed into the soil in autumn and a layer of leaves protects the newly dropped seeds before they get buried into earth to sleep for the winter.

Trees, especially forests of trees, breathe and that collective movement of air will affect and calm winds. Bushes and hedges create a safe haven for birds in high winds.

Trees shade the earth from the heat of the sun, again protecting topsoil.
Woodlands and forests provide shelter and food for countless animals and birds.
Trees provide nutritional food in the form of fruits, berries, nuts and some tree leaves are edible and the bark and nuts of some trees are used medicinally or as spices.

If you have a little space, grow a tree in your garden.

Fruit trees such as Apple, Pear, Plum, Damson & Greengage are all fairly small trees, depending on type, and repay your gift of space in your garden with plenty of fruit at the end of summer and autumn.

Rowan, Elder & Hawthorn are small trees that offer berries that are edible to humans and birds.

Many of the fruits and berries that grow are ideal for making jams and jellies.

For a beautiful display: Spindle, Maple & Silver Birch are small and lovely trees.

If you have a larger garden, make space for a big tree and it will repay you with a cool place in the heat of summer. Beech, Walnut & Chestnut also provide edible nuts.
Oak, Ash, Hawthorn & London Plane are all great trees for the large garden.

A Mood lifting exercise

Look out at trees or grassy area and as you breathe imagine you are breathing the green colour into your upper chest area. Carry on as long as you like or until you feel like doing something else.
This little exercise is excellent for changing your perspective if you are worrying about things, or feel down.

In Yogic and other understandings, including Reiki, the Heart Chakra is the energy centre at the top middle of the chest. When this centre is balanced in a person, the person is generally fairly well balanced, feels compassion towards others and is kind and giving without being overly selfless.

It's fascinating that the Heart Centre is said to vibrate to the colour green and that the life support system that is Earth, it's plants and Trees, are all predominantly green.

Perhaps to restore earth balance, we need to restore the amount of green, in the form of trees: the earth's life support system.
