Who ever believed that Easter egg hunts were only for the children has absolutely forgotten how enjoyable an Easter egg hunt can be. Easter egg hunts are for every age from two to one hundred and two and they fetch smiles from everyone who chooses to participate.

Toddlers
For the toddlers participating in the Easter egg hunt the plastic eggs should be out in the open and should contain toddler finger foods. Insert the colorful Easter eggs with cheese doodles, goldfish crackers, or cheerios but leave the toys out of the eggs.

As any parent knows, any toy that fits inside a little Easter egg is much too little for the toddler who will try to eat it. Instead hand the toddler a cute stuffed bunny or chick as a prize, these can be picked up at any dollar store for a buck or two.

Preschoolers
For the preschoolers who are just learning about their world Easter eggs can be partially hidden for the Easter egg hunts. Their plastic eggs can have jellybeans, soft chocolate candy, or coins in them.

I have never been big on putting tiny toys in Easter eggs for anyone under the age of five because they do tend to break easy and that takes some of the excitement of getting an Easter gift at the egg hunt. Instead, opt of a sheet of stickers, a very cool tattoo, or a cute stuffed animal bought at the dollar store.

5-10 year olds
These kids love the challenge of an Easter egg hunt, so hand each child a piece of paper leading them towards an egg. Each piece of paper should point them in the right direction of the next egg. Make each of their clues simple enough to understand, but exciting at the same time by using riddles.

These eggs can include a piece of candy along with the clue to the next egg. After they find five eggs through the clues given, they can have a bigger surprise such as a few dollars in an egg or a five-dollar gift certificate to a fast food restaurant.

Tweens, Teens and Beyond
You can create a treasure hunt with these people as well, to make it more exciting to them. At this age, they still love the candy but their taste in the types of candy has changed, so have they changed in many ways. Easter egg hunts are fun for all ages, and it is never a good idea to leave anyone out of the fun.

Figure up if you are going to have people search for the eggs separately or in a group setting. Each team or person if conducting the Easter egg hunt separately needs to have his or her own color of egg.

Make the clues inside the eggs lead to a special surprise that was chosen just for the winner. These can be gag gift surprises, gift certificates or hosts of other things that will bring a smile to the faces that are participating in the Easter egg hunt.
