There are so many things women wish men knew; somehow telling them does not always work. It really has to be communicated in a way where he will get it. I heard a teacher once say that men are generally logical thinkers and mostly interested in their job, and sex. It is unfortunate to have to say that they are that shallow, maybe shallow is not the proper term here. Let's just say "focused". What ever way you choose to communicate, it must be done in a way that will not cause him to tune you out. Whining, yelling, and complaining definitely will not communicate to your husband or the man in your life the things you deem most important.
There are certain things I have said to my husband probably millions of times in the last 22 years of marriage that I think he kind of knows but I cannot always tell. I am going to give my little list of irritants as clearly as possible; for any other "focused" individuals that may be searching for the tools to understanding his significant other. These are the 10 things women wish men knew:
1. We are not visually stimulated. We don't get that.
2. We hate to be clutched in certain areas; we are not bowling balls.
3. The top of our blouse is closed for a reason, nothing changes and it is not necessary to continually check and see if it has.
4. We like you to be nice to our friends and family members.
5. Most of us love a little TLC. Play with our hair, back rub etc.
6. If there are disagreements that need to be dealt with, we do not want to do it in public.
7. We like you to look nice when we go out in public.
8. When we look around at a civic event, we are not checking out the guys, we are sizing up the relationships in the crowd.
9. We love it when we are given a mental and physical break from the monotony of every day life; it is never personal against you.
10. Did I mention we are not visually stimulated, that's worth mentioning twice. We do not get excited when you get out of the shower.
Of course the list varies from woman to woman; I happen to be married to a very attentive husband who helps in our home tremendously, unlike many men. Most women will tell you their husbands wait for them to do it all; hopefully that's not anyone reading this little list. At any rate, I hope this gives a bit of insight to a few of the areas that women and men experience miscommunication. And hopefully these are easy enough to apply or at least consider when applicable.
