Passion is a very important component of keeping resolutions, fulfilling dreams and achieving goals. It's not enough to build a great plan that provides structure for daily resolution activities. It's not enough to pursue just one resolution at a time, one day at a time. It's not enough to write things down in a Daily Resolution Diary. One resolution, a plan, a Daily Resolution Diary, and small steps taken daily are vitally important ingredients for success - but you need more than that to stay motivated and make your resolution a permanent part of your life.
To succeed, you must choose a resolution about which you have great interest and desire - a resolution that will enable you to grow, learn, and have fun. It's also important to choose a resolution that you will find personally rewarding. Choose a resolution that inspires passion in your heart, mind and soul!
We have all heard the the same top New Year resolutions, year after year: exercise, lose weight, stop smoking, stop drinking, reduce debt, get organized, simplify life, and so on. All are wonderful resolutions that improve lives. But what if, for instance, you already exercise and you want to make exercise your resolution again. Perhaps you want to take your exercise program to the next level? That's a very positive step toward achieving 'Lifetime Resolutions'.
Exercise is one of 'my' Lifetime Resolutions. I long ago made exercise a permanent part of my life. I've learned if you want to make resolutions 'stick' you need to permanently incorporate them into your daily routine. I have a list of lifetime dreams - all the many things large and small that I hope to achieve in my lifetime. Each year when I make my New Year resolution I pick one from that list - and I work to keep it for life. That resolution is part of me, my daily existence, what makes me unique. Experts say it takes three weeks to develop a habit. When you think of turning your dreams and goals into Lifetime Resolutions - one by one, one day at a time, over a lifetime - it vastly alters the old-fashioned resolution paradigm, for the better!
When you choose resolutions that you want to pursue day after day, year after year, they become lifelong habits. Why? Because you're not simply making and keeping a resolution, only to discard it to move onto the next one on your long list of 10-20 things to do. This year, in addition to working out, my resolution is to help others to achieve their resolutions, dreams and goals. I enjoy
