Spring Training with the Giants was a time of anticipation more so than the recent lofty expectations they have received in seasons past. Commentators and fans alike know that the Giants have only a very small, outside chance at having a successful season and less of making the playoffs. The acquisition of Barry Zito, from across the bay, will definitely put fans in the seats at least every five games and with Barry Bonds closing in on the record, fans are ready to share a part of history with this star.
However, the rest of the pitching rotation is lacking in talent and experience. There Lineup has little power and not much speed in comparison to the rest of the West, and most importantly there is stiff competition from the Dodgers, Padres, and Rockies. Even the Diamondbacks are looking better than the Giants.
That being said, I wouldn't miss this season, quite possible the most historic since 1976 and maybe even 1927, for anything.
