Fortunately there are many natural remedies that you can use to treat a bladder infection, as well as a few lifestyle changes that you can make if you suffer from bladder infections frequently. However, if you are constantly plagued by bladder infections, you should seek medical attention as there may be a serious underlying medical issue causing the infections to occur.
Cranberry is by far one of the best natural remedies for a bladder infection. Cranberry produces a hippuric acid in the urine which causes the urine to acidify and inhibits bacterial growth. Cranberry also helps prevent bacteria from adhering to the lining or your bladder. Cranberry can be taken in juice or capsule form. If you choose cranberry juice, be sure and buy a 100% cranberry juice, rather than a juice cocktail, in order to receive all of cranberries health benefits.
Colloidal silver is another natural remedy that works well for bladder infections. Colloidal silver is a natural antibiotic that destroys bacteria and viruses. Colloidal silver also promotes healing in our bodies.
Acidophilus can help to restore friendly bacteria to your bladder and intestines. Acidophilus is extremely important if you are taking antibiotics, as they can strip your body of necessary bacteria.
Birch leaves a are natural remedy that act as a natural diuretic to help cure bladder infections. Birch leaves also help to reduce some of the pain you may be suffering from due to your infection. Other diuretics that help to cleanse the system and help to heal a bladder infection are dandelion tea and hydrangea. A combination of these herbs is the most effective way to naturally heal your bladder infection.
If you are suffering from a bladder infection, one of the most natural remedies is to drink plenty of liquids. Cranberry juice is of course one of the best liquids for you, however you should also consume plenty of steam-distilled water as well. You should avoid carbonated beverages such as soda, caffeinated beverages, alcohol and coffee.
Another natural remedy for bladder infections concerns your diet. While suffering from a bladder infection, avoid chocolate and refined or processed foods. You can also consume plenty of celery and watermelon, as these foods are natural diuretics and cleansers that can help to cleanse your body.
If using natural remedies to cure your bladder infection does not result in any improvement within a few days, you should seek medical attention immediately. While bladder infections are usually more of a nuisance that anything, if left untreated they can turn into a serious kidney infection that can cause a great deal of damage.
