The consequences of using alternative energy

The alternative energy sources are so called because they should replace, in a future that I desperately hope as near as possible, the too polluting and limited fuels obtained from oil, coal and uranium.
They are alternative also because clean (they don't create pollution) and unlimited in nature, like SOLAR, WIND, GEOTHERMAL, SEA CURRENTS energy sources.

In addition, they can be coupled with a much more advanced policy of energy saving and efficiency; the goal is to reduce our energy needs by avoiding energy wastes in the industrial processes and in the building techniques adopted for houses and offices in all the world.

The consequences of using these energy sources are clearly visible where they are already a reality, although we are still late in their general diffusion at every level; everywhere they're used, everybody is satisfied of the advantages they offer, in many cases, without the need of too expensive and complicated technologies.
Also the maintenance of clean energy generators is relatively very limited and not very difficult, like in the case of solar panels or eolian generators, respect to what necessary for coal, uranium and oil refining and extraction plants, where safety precautions seem never enough to eliminate the risks of explosion, fires and pollution.

And what to say about the risks created by nuclear power plants? Using alternative energies, there will not be anymore the risks of radioactive leaks from nuclear reactors and of radioactive wastes travelling across the world by train or ship, looking for a site where to be hidden for 100 or 1000 years, hoping that no accidents and leaks will be occurring in the meantime.

The same hydrocarbons could be transformed by reforming or fuel cells processes into H2, when the production of this clean fuel from water electrolysis fed by solar energy were not sufficient.
This, only provided that all the CO2 produced in these processes will be trapped as CaCO3 (LIMESTONE) and stored underground, where this salt comes from, for not increasing the greenhouse effect, as we are making today.

The first practical consequence for the quality of our life will be that clean energy doesn't produce pollution (it wouldn't be "clean", otherwise!) and also when we burn H2, the product is only pure water ( 2 H2 + O2 -> 2 H2O ).
So, if also vehicles for people and goods transportation used electric or compressed air engines, the air of our towns would be much cleaner than today, also in conditions
