Valentine's Day
On the evening before Saint Valentine was to be martyred for being a Christian, he passed a love note to his jailer's daughter that read, "From your Valentine." Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The legend of Valentines Day started way back in the Middle Ages. There are numerous accounts of this age-old tradition. Just imagine how Saint Valentine would feel, if he knew that his death, sparked a celebration of romance, for men and women throughout the world. Sending candy and flowers are fine, but a bit too pass for my taste. One of the most touching gifts I have ever received was a teddy bear, sent by my wife, one day while I was at work. How sweet? Since that time, I've come to realize that the small things are often more significant.
Valentines Day can be celebrated in a number of ways. In my house, we sometimes begin the celebration, by hiding little notes. Whoever finds the most, determines how we spend the rest of the evening. It might be a walk in the park, a movie, or dinner at our favorite restaurant. It doesn't have to be anything elaborate, just make sure it's intimate and affordable. One of the best ways to kill an evening is to go on a date that you cannot afford. Once the two of you come to a conclusion, agree to meet at a designated place. This way, you have more time to prepare the house for the rest of the evening. When you return home, surprise her with an unexpected foot massage. From there, lead her to a warm awaiting bath, with body oils, scented candles and a bottle of your favorite wine. Gently sponge her body, and tease her with an occasional nibble on the ear.
Not too much foreplay! At this point you don't want to appear over anxious. Suggest a glass of wine, then relax and enjoy the ambience. Gently caress and message her body. If things get out of control, which at this point they often do, let nature take it's course and enjoy the rest of the evening. Personally, I don't like that ending, so humor me while I continue. At the appropriate time, take her hand and guide her out of the bath. With a large, soft towel, gently dry each other off. Then, follow the rose petals that lead to the bedchamber, or cozy fireplace. Once there, begin to rub each other down with exotic body oil. Cuddle and caress until you reach a crescendo of passion.
Humm! Is that all there is? I hope not! Love is not a script to be followed. The above illustration might very well be an elaborate fabrication. Who knows? I'll never tell! True love is more then flowers, candy and even sex. Love thrives on friendship, loyalty and commitment. Sometimes being patient and reassuring in times of uncertainty has a far greater impact than a sexual encounter. True love is not always fifty-fifty. There are times when one partner contributes 10%, while the other contributes only 90% and vice-versa. It's a partnership that can only succeed if the two partners work together. Is it worth it? I hope so! Only you can decide. I once heard a quote given by someone whose name escapes me. He said, "A great lover is not determined by how many women he sleeps with, but how long he can satisfy to one he's with!" Selah
