THE SEVEN BASIC LAWS OF MARKETING
The world of marketing is a wide-wide world.This is so,because even though an expensive business treat,it is a discipline that has been revolutionized by the emergence of Information
and Communication Technology(ICT).As a social process,marketing is expected to provide the need of individuals and groups through the creation and exchange of products and services.As a management process,and according to The Chartered Institute of Marketing(CIM),marketing identifies,anticipates,and satisfies customers requirements profitably.In a nutshell,when the right product,is available,in the right place,at the right time,and at the right price,then you are doing marketing.
Marketing is a very important part of every management.And because it is so vital in the management cycle,over time,it has evolved,in its own right,with laws that tend to,but really they do,serve as its guide.However,it should be realised,that the laws of marketing are not scientific laws,which have undergone severe experimentation,and have graduated through hypotheses and theory.Rather,they are better perceived to be social laws,and should be regarded as such.The following are what I considered the basic laws of marketing :
1.The Law of Positivity
The law of positivity says that it takes only a positive attitude to win the war with customers.Pessimism and procastination will not help in marketing.There is an old adage that says "customers are forever right."Anyway,I am talking about marketing that strives for success all of the time.In pure marketing,no customer has a bad attitude.Rather than inflicting an injury on your seasoned customer,it is the organization that should watch it.If it doesn't,the loss may be huge.Since human beings are considered social animals,a responsive marketer should learn to provide accommodation to everyone.You should always think you are wrong,not the customer.Truly speaking,more often than not,this assertion is very true.The customer that puts up a "bad attitude" towards your business may have been ignorant of what things supposed to be.Finding a way to educate your customer on a continuous basis via multimedia is a way to correct errorneous beliefs and improve or maintain your public image.
2.The Law of Honesty
The law of honesty says only responsibility breeds honesty.This law may have also been tagged the law of responsibility.Management should learn to be honest with itself and of course,the customers.It is a good
