Getting "paid" to click

Introduction

The concept of get "paid to click" (PTC) began sometime in the year 2007. The first most notable program that offer this opportunity would be Adbux. It was at its very peaked during the mid year 2007 period. It was being discerned that more and more of such PTC sites had started since then. The idea of PTC is generally believed to be evolved from "paid to read" (PTR). So now the question remains - What is getting "paid" to click or getting paid to read?

Consequently, PTR are sites that pay members to read email. The rate for a member to read an email is usually less than $0.01 and there are usually not many advertisement for you to read generally.

1. How PTC makes Money?

- Advertiser
Essentially, PTC is a site that offers service to both advertisers and members. Advertisers will pay for the various available packages to host their intended website on this PTC site which will be eventually clicked by its member. The fee for advertising a website varies from PTCs to PTCs. How much the amount the advertiser is required to pay would depends on how many clicks he would like to get from this advertisement. In short, the payment is measured by the number of clicks the advertisers want.

- Premium membership
Selling premium membership to existing standard members on a yearly basis is also one of the key income sources for PTC.

- Referrals

If I remember correctly, Adbux was the first to start off with this idea of selling un-referred members. Un-referred members are people whom joined the PTC site without any referrals. Generally, PTC industry had been extremely lucrative due to this idea of selling un-referred members.

2. How members make money?

- Click

On the other side of the coin, the revenue being obtained from these advertisers will not go solely to the PTC site as part of it will go to the members. The members will get paid based on the number of advertisements that they have clicked. Generally, the number of clicks available for members will determine on how many advertisers are there. The general rate for a member to click on a advertisement is usually at $0.01 or less.
