The popularity of sports camps has grown rapidly over the past few decades. I can recall a time when baseball and cheerleading where the only sports driven summer camps you ever heard about. Times change and now our children have the opportunity to attend nearly any sport camp you can imagine.
Girls basketball camps are plentiful in California. Offering girls only, boys only and co-ed as well as day camps and sleepover camps. Let's look at a few of the more popular basketball camps that sunny California has to offer girls.
* Nike Basketball Camp - Located in Santa Cruz, this all girls camp is for young ladies ages eight to eighteen. They offer two programs extended day which is a 12 hour day program and over night. In addition to types of camp. The Complete skills camp is offered August 3-7 the extended day program is $ 525.00 and the overnight program is $645.00. The second camp program is Shooting camp the extended day version is $255 and the overnight is $355, this camp is offered from August 7-9. * Dolphin Camp - Located in San Francisco, open to girls ages 5 to 13 this is strictly a day camp that teaches girls the basics of basketball. It cost $185 a week and ideally it's a good place to start if you live in the San Francisco area as most girls under 10 are not ready to spend a week away from home. * CAL Basketball Camp for Girls - Located in Berkeley, open to girls ages 5 to 18. They offer several different programs depending on age and skill level. They also offer a full day camp for $50 a day primarily aimed at the younger girls. A week at CAL is $350 to $425.
