Why settle for plain old peanuts or those expensive brands of honey roasted when you can make your own sugared peanuts? I've been making these for several years now and they are one of my most requested holiday treats, but it does not have to be a holiday to enjoy these delectable little treats. Even the cheap brands of peanuts can be made extra special with this easy recipe.
1 cup water
2 cups sugar
4 cups shelled peanuts
Preheat oven to 300.
In a large pot combine water and sugar. Cook over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Add peanuts and continue cooking until all the liquid (syrup) is gone and the peanuts are crusted with the sugar. Pour the peanuts into an ungreased cookie sheet and spread them out. Bake for 15 minutes, stirring and separating every 5 minutes. Cool completely and store into container with a tight-fitting lid.
