There are so many ways to cook an Eye of round roast. The two most common are in the oven or a crock pot. Many people choose to BBQ the beef which is very tasty also. However, what's important is not how you choose to cook it but what ingredients you use to add the extra flavor.
OVEN COOKED EYE OF ROUND ROAST
Ingredients
3 pound eye of round roast
2 cups of water
3 beef bouillon cubes
2 Tablespoons of onion powder
2 tablespoons of garlic powder
2 Tablespoons of celery seed
2 Tablespoons of ground cumin
2 Tablespoons of Worcester sauce
PREPARATION
In a baking pan add the two cups of water and 3 beef bouillon cubes place the roast in the pan and sprinkle the spices and Worcester sauce on it. Preheat oven to 350 and cook uncovered for approximately two and a half hours.
The same ingredients can be used when cooking the roast in a Crockpot you will need an additional 2 cups of water.
SPICE IT UP
Using all of the ingredients for the oven version. You can add a few additional ingredients.
1/2 cup of pineapples and 3 tablespoons of pineapple juice
OR
3 large apples peeled, cored and chopped
BBQ EYE OF ROUND ROAST
Ingredients
3 pound roast
2 cups of water
2 Tablespoons of onion powder
2 Tablespoons of garlic powder
1 1/2 cups of BBQ sauce
PREPARATION
Preheat oven to 350 degrees pour 2 cups of water in the bottom of the pan set the roast in the pan pour the BBQ sauce over it be sure to cover it all and sprinkle the spices on it. Cover with foil and cook about 3 hours.
There are so many ingredients you can add to a roast for a tasty dinner.
ROASTED VEGETABLES
6 medium to large potatoes (peeled and sliced)
1 cup of chopped carrots
1 cup of broccoli
1 cup of cut green beans
Add the vegetables about 40 minutes before the roast will be cooked cover with foil and continue cooking.
Serves 6
