The first signs of pregnancy are sometimes the most obvious, but more often they are a bit more subtle. There are some women who instinctively know they are pregnant before a doctor or home pregnancy test confirms a positive result. Although there are probably an equal number or more percentage of women who may not recognize these not so easy to detect symptoms which point to early pregnancy.
When you become pregnant, many symptoms emerge as indicators of the many rapid changes which are occurring inside your body. Why do these symptoms suggest you may possibly be pregnant? In early pregnancy your body is going through many physical, hormonal and emotional changes and all are in preparation for pregnancy, childbirth and even nursing.
If you fall into the category of women who don't quickly notice the early symptoms, there are a few signs which point to the fact you might be pregnant. An easy way to recognize them is to be in tune with your body; you'll notice more quickly any changes which are occurring.
These are the common early signals you may experience if you are pregnant:
*Late period. If your period has not arrived this month, this is a pretty good indicator you might be pregnant, especially if it is more than a few days late. While a late period isn't uncommon, if your cycle is pretty regular, this is a sign of pregnancy and is a good signal to see your doctor or take a home pregnancy test. While a missed period is usually the first signal, sometimes there are other signs which may occur even before your cycle is due to begin.
*Fatigue. One of the first signs of pregnancy is sudden fatigue. If your days are filled with tiredness and you can barely keep your eyes open, and all you feel like doing is sleeping the hours away, this is a symptom of early pregnancy. This is especially true if you are typically an energetic person who is constantly on the go and is suddenly experiencing unusual fatigue.
*Queasiness. If you couple the exhaustion with the nauseous feelings you've been having lately, you might even mistakenly think you are coming down with the flu or other illness. Sometimes you may feel woozy and need to sit down as a feeling of lightheadedness overcomes you. This is another early indicator of pregnancy which may come on unexpectedly. These feelings are traditionally known as "morning sickness", but can begin to abruptly occur at any time of the day. Some women have this feeling all day long not too long after conception.
