Modesty contributes to beauty

Modesty is the Best Policy for Achieving Beauty

We all do it. Whether intentionally or not, we compare ourselves with each other. We wonder if the scantily clad woman standing in line next to us has real boobs or whether she is wearing a push up bra. We wonder what the man or woman with the great body did to get that way so we too can achieve the same physique. We wonder how long it took her to "put on her face" or what kind of products he or she uses. By nature, we are comparers. Which doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing in our up-and-coming society, or else we wouldn't have the best.

Unfortunately, we have used this nature of ours to compete with each other. Not just competing to be the best in our talents and abilities, but rather in our looks- unless you consider it a talent to paint the prettiest face. Instead of being happy we are exactly the way God made us, we are in competition to be the best looking "thing" in the room. And that's exactly what we allow ourselves to be viewed as when we our immodest- things.

It's a sick world we live in when everywhere we turn, women are not celebrated for our beauty, but rather our bust size or our "booty" size. The word "beautiful" is being replaced with "hot" or "sexy" as though we're some animal trying to satisfy not one man's sexual appetite, but any man who feasts his eyes upon us. The sad thing is, we enjoy it, or at least we act like we do. And even if we don't, most of us encourage men to act like animals around us by the way we dress instead of the men God created them to be and the men we want them to be.

We either have a large chest or make it appear that way with $30+ bras that will do the job and stick it in front of a man as though we're offering him a delicious, forbidden dessert and then get mad when he can't keep his eyes on our face. Any time we pick up something or bend over, we show too much skin or that specially-picked thong and wonder why he just can't get his mind off of sex after just meeting him. Even the best of us wouldn't consider going out in our undergarments in front of the opposite sex, but when it comes to swimming, we lay out in just that or even less than that at times because somehow when we're wet, it's ok. Everyone's doing it. They don't make wet t-shirt or bikini contests for nothing! And yet, we wonder why we can't meet Prince Charming when we're turning Prince Charming into an ugly old frog. If we only realized the power we have
