Play it Safe
Be safe when becoming sexually active with one or more new partner(s), or even if it is your first time. Consider all your options for protection against STDs and becoming pregnant. Ignorance towards using safe sex could leave you in a world of long term heartache, and down a road of turmoil; due to STDs that aren't curable. Why take the chance? All it takes is one time of unsafe sex for mass trouble down the road. All that can be avoided with proper knowledge gained on practicing proper safe sex to prevent a case of STDs.
Statistics
The statistics in the US is 19 million new sexually transmitted infections are estimated in the USA every year. The highest risk is from twenty- four years old and younger. At that age you are more out to take a chance or not think clearly without being properly informed from A to Z on the whole nine yards of what to do, what to ask a partner, etc.
Don't take a chance. Ignorance can cause you long term misfortune if you catch an incurable disease. You don't want to be apart of the nations typical yearly statistics.
Incurable STDs
At this time, genital warts are not curable. You can arrange to have them burned or they can freeze them off. Herpes is another incurable disease. There are anti-viral medications that can reduce the amount of outbreaks, but you will still have a disease that is contagious for life. That means your partner can catch it if you practice unsafe sex. HIV/AIDS is not curable either. There are medicines that can help treat the condition but there is no cure.
Preventing STDs
Most of us in the USA have had Sex Education at school but it helps if parents are involved from puberty with educating their children on the safe practice of sexual contact or talking to their children about reframing from sexual contact until later on in life when they decide to settle down and have kids. It doesn't hurt to have these talks with your adolescent; if anything it can put knowledge in their hands by empowering them to make the right decisions for their future by not subjecting themselves to unnecessary life threatening diseases.
The safest way of course is not having intercourse at all, but most of us let our hormones take over sooner or later; if your parents haven't talked to you about sex than try reading about it from the library. The library has a ton of information that will help you if you are deciding on breaking your virginity or if you are choosing a new partner either way knowledge
