Now, riding on the success of the original Pearl and then the highly rated Curve, comes the newest addiction for PDA enthusiasts. RIM (Research In Motion), has once again opened its creative oyster and will shuck out the newest Pearl, the 8120 via T-Mobile. RIM has held a long standing relationship with T-Mobile, one of the world's largest carriers and has chosen them to host the release on April 14, 2008.
The Pearl, named for that little pearlesque trackball in its center, was RIM's answer to the world's consumers wanting a Blackberry Smartphone that was more fun but not less function. Because of security issues in government and businesses, cameras were not allowed, but the Blackberry's ability to store documents and e-mail was a phenomenal tool for these enterprises. As the employees of these agencies and businesses went home with their organizing, Internet accessing, full qwerty keyboard devices, friends and family began coveting it. Unfortunately, unless you were into black rubber soled shoe fashion, its design was less than fashionista approved. It came, and still does in other versions, in a large, all-business black, sans image recording format. leaving more fun and fashion conscious people cold. Then came the Pearl. Camera and music, along with a streamlined look and then the pice de rsistance, a rainbow of colors made it the hottest selling RIM design ever.
According to websites like Engadget.com, the Pearl 8120 will host a menu of mouthwatering features.
* Wi-Fi, dual mode, for mobile calling. This will allow you to not only pull in signal using GSM for SIM using cells, but will seamlessly jump on to a Wi-Fi signal for added resources. At T-Mobile for a mere 9.99 per month, you can add a feature, T-Mobile's HotSpot @Home service, to your account that allows you free, unlimited calling when calls begin on Wi-Fi. In the age when everything else is costing more, T-Mobile has added a way to actually reduce your plan and costs with phones like this in their line-up.
* High Speed GPRS Internet access, if you choose to add the feature to your rate plan, or you can simply have a data line with optional voice minutes.
* Personal as well as work e-mails and the option to access the e-mails from your corporate enterprise server.
* My Faves rate plan option software installed. T-Mobile's way of allowing you five free people you can call 24/7. This is to any cell phone or land-line in the USA or Puerto Rico (except toll frees and 900s).
