Without harnessing the power of Microsoft Office into a functional business software application, the Microsoft Office Suite is just another untapped software application in the sea of pre-packaged programming code. Using Microsoft office for business applications requires a few things such as familiarity with business needs, creativity in designing and sorting information, insight into how the software can benefit the organization and integration into the office computing framework. Achieving these goals is one step in the business planning process but may not go without its benefits.
Acclimatization with Business Objectives:
An important step in using Microsoft office is knowing what it will be used for. A small accounting service business may have little if any need for Microsoft PowerPoint, but have significantly more need for Microsoft Excel and Access. To the contrary, a marketing service provider may rely more heavily on the presentational features of PowerPoint and front page to influence and persuade clients and potential markets of the benefits of various products or services.
In other words, tailoring the software to the business' needs is probably a necessary step in realizing which software is going to be relied upon and utilized most heavily within a business. In addition to knowing which of the software packages are going to be useful, understanding and familiarizing with the software applications themselves is also important. Allowing employees some time to take tutorials, learn the software and understand how it will be used is a factor that could quite realistically influence accuracy, productivity and output.
Creative Design and Manipulation of Business Information:
Microsoft Office software is flexible, allowing the software user to create, modify and utilize documents, spreadsheets and software tools to meet the needs of the business. The needs of a business depend on factors such as the industry, market, management objectives etc. Once these needs have been identified, Microsoft Office can assist in achieving those needs and/or goals. Business needs may include any one or more of the following:
*Correspondence with clients
*Advertising and Marketing materials
*Inter-office communications
*Account records and bookkeeping
*Operational recordkeeping
*Scheduling and planning
Insight into Software Benefits:
Another element of Microsoft Office in terms of business applications is insight into the potential benefits
