Microsoft Word for Windows and Mac operating systems provides a diversity of tools and formatting features that allow its users to optimize their writing, creative, and presentation needs in so far as word processing goes. Microsoft Word has been in production for several generations of Microsoft software including the Microsoft office suite which includes the Excel, Access, Desktop Publisher, Powerpoint software programs. MICROSOFT WORD FEATURES AND TOOLBARS:
The toolbars in Microsoft word can be found by clicking on View, then Tools on the main Microsoft word dashboard. These toolbars include a range of formatting features including word art, backgrounds, formatting, drawing, forms and more. Since not everyone needs all the toolbars, they can be turned on or off by checking them in the tools drop down menu. Checking a toolbar will make it visible on the main page and un-checking it will remove it from sight.
*Formatting: The formatting options in Microsoft word are quite important to word processing as they allow a user to determine font size and style, listing via bullets or numbers, paragraph spacing, layout and margin indentation both on the top and sides of the page.
*Insert Function: The insert function in Microsoft word is also quite useful as it makes possible a lot of visible displays that might otherwise not be possible. For example, by clicking on "symbol" in the main word menu one can select from a range of symbols such as the copyright symbol, trademark, greek letters, mathematical and financial symbols.
BUSINESS DOCUMENTATION USING MICROSOFT WORD:
Depending on the type of business various documents can be templated using Microsoft word Macros, tables, graphing in addition to textboxes, hyperlinks and even movies. For example, a company may produce multiple copies of documents for different clients such as reports, legal documents, warranties etc. If the only thing that needs to be changed on those documents is the client information a word template can expedite the production of these documents by using a fill screen.
