Phone companies that require pressing #1 for English offend America's majority

How does it offend America's majority, the majority of people in America speak English...still. America did not suddenly become a nation of French or Spanish speaking citizens, yes other languages exist and are prevalent in America; but that would be like me going to Spain and getting angry at them for speaking to me in Spanish, or going to Italy and getting mad at them for speaking Italian, or going to any country and getting mad at them for speaking their native language.

Just because people want to accuse all Americans of being racist all the time does not make it true. A lot of us are, even those of us that are not racist are still in some ways racist. It is a sad fact that racism exists, but it is just as sad that reverse racism exists. To be offended by an American company that requires you to press 1 for English is the same thing as practicing reverse racism. Being offended by that means that you have found a reason to take offense, generally speaking when people take offense to something it means that something is not innocent. If someone gets offended by the prompt to press a number for a certain language, they are injecting racism into that mechanism, it wasn't originally meant to be offensive. There is no racism behind it, that company chose to put English as its first language in the directory because more than likely the majority of people calling that company will be speaking that language.

I have called a company before whose first language was Spanish, and it was a company located in America. I did not get offended by that. Do you think I cared that I had to wait to press 2? Did I go off accusing them of being racist against Americans...no. I realized in my apparently infinite wisdom that more than likely it was a predominantly Spanish speaking company and that more than likely a majority of the people calling them were Spanish speaking, which is why it was the first choice. Granted it was the only company I have ever called that had Spanish as the #1, but clearly if it exists that means that it exists, it's there.

The thing about other ethnicities in America is that many of them also speak English, along with their native language. Many if not most Americans speak only one language. If you or your family have chosen to move to a country that is not your country of birth or ancestral origin then you have no right calling yourself the majority and no right to get offended by that countries customs, traditions, languages, or business
