So far the best songs that have come out for hip hop are not the ones that most people consider hip hop. Much of todays most popular music would actually be considered pop by people whom have been into hip hop since the begining. Now in days there are two types of "hip hop heads" Those that would rather listen to the pop rap that rules the airwaves that sends out the same message of cash h@es cars drugs and a catchy hook with shake that butty on top of that and the people that prefer "Old School" hip hop that carries a message or story or better understood as an urban culture. in other words old school hip hop would be stories of a struggle of everyday lives of messages and whats wrong with the world today wile hip pop is more oriented with the party life most young people want to have.

So these piece is for the message hip hop or old school style so lets begin

As of today july the 5th we have a resurrection of the west coast along with some powerfull east coast tracks.

1. The top Songs
Nas- Hero
This track is preety hot that can even cross over into popular lists. It has great lirycs explaining the controversy over his album title and a great beat with hook. We should not argue wheater it is pop or not cause a great song is a great song.

2.Ice Cube - Do Ya Thang
this recently released track will have the west coast going bananas. It is Classic Ice Cube and West Coast maybe even better than hero with some more airplay. If You havent heard it get it now.

3.The Game - Game's Pain Ft. Keisha Cole
Great message track from the game's upcoming album. Keisha provides a great hook. and helps to strenghten a west coast heavy list.

4. Bishop Lamont - City Lights
If you are like me then u don't really listen to mixtapes but this has to be the best mixtape song i have heard. Bishop Lamont if you havent heard, is dr. dre's protege and will be heavily featured on Detox. His Album The Reformation will mark the return of doctor Dre with Detox hopefully coming right after it. City Lights Is a great song production is outstanding hook lyrics and beat are worty of a listen. I recomend this track to everyone that loves Hip Hop.

5.Big Boi - Royal Flush Ft. Andre 3000 & Raekwon
A jewel song from the south with 3 monsters on the mic and a great beat it reminds one of classic Outkast songs and a worthy song.

Ice Cube - Gangsta Rap Made Me do It
The first single from ice cube's raw footage album the is also a remix with nas and scarface worthy of checking out

NaS - You Can't Stop Us Now
Another track from NaS more laidback but still good. great lyrics

Lil' Wayne - Tie My Hands/Mr. Carter
Am Not A big fan of lil' wayne's i i flip chips like doritos style but Tha Carter 3 provides a couple good Hip Hop tracks mr. carter also features Jay-Z and are in my opinion hip hop tracks worth a listen as for the rest of the album well is more of the same lil' wayne.

The Roots - Criminal
This Track from their Rising Down Album is only one of several bangers from the Cd. This standout track features a great chorus, guitar and outstanding lyrics from Black Thought

Glasses Malone - Certified Ft. Akon
The Young Jeezy sound alike joins a strong west coast lineup with a South style track that promises to re-energize the West Coast

In My Opinion Some of The Best songs of the year
