Comparing DSL and Dialup

Dial up or DSL? Which is preferable?

I recently have been mistakenly taking my DSL service too much for granted. It seems when we moved, our DSL service would not be re-connected for several days. Therefore, for the time in- between, we hooked up with one of the free services you usually find on a free cd in a checking out part of a department store.

Let me tell you, the Dial up number we use is local,so you would 'think' it would be more convenient. But in the years and years and years of dial-up service, which has been around forever, you would think it would be terrific by now. The question in my mind comes "If they can send a man to the moon,". However, dial up is still just as lousy as it always was. If you are lucky enough to get on the thing, beware of getting knocked off again and again. How anyone can get any work done on a Dial-up service boggles my mind. It would take me all day, to do what I can accomplish in one hour of DSL. And still, the first month of dial-up service if free, but I cannot believe they would still have a charge for this service every month after should we keep it. No wonder you do not see the commercials for the dial-up services the way you do for the DSL services with companies. Dial-up service companies must be the poorest companies on the stock market and no wonder.(Please DSL, continue to go everywhere.)

DSL is faster than I can imagine, in comparison to Dial-up service. So much can be completed in such a small amount of time. Dial- up is a waste of money and a huge waste of time for the person who works so hard. Why even making a few changes, or sending something important, just checking your e-mail, can cost you too much time out of your day.

How did anyone of us survive, way back before Dial-up and still want the internet, is beyond my comprehension. DSL is coming to our house in four more days. I foresee more mornings at the Starbucks, drinking coffee, listening to soft music and enjoying 6.0 power of the internet.

Yes, I know Dial-up service is cheaper, but at the cost of the time we waste sitting in front of the keyboard, as our eyes start to hypnotize into oblivious, I still say faster DSL is worth the money. It is worth it, just to get out of the seat.

Thank goodness for this technology. I will never take DSL for granted again. In the end, you always get what you pay for.
