The search for good in a land full of confusion is becoming a necessity for life. This, raises the question, Is God good? In a land of famine, war, and suffering, where is good? There are many gods, that can't offer peace, love or joy. If we look to the creator of all things, and by his will they exist; then we will see a good God. We can overcome evil with good. We must choose to see the good in a God who does not lie, and cannot fail. He is good all the time.

Although, suffering abounds, God is good. Freewill seems to have been a downfall for so many. It is not that God wants to look upon all the confusion, but bad choices lead to bitter outcomes. Freewill of man has led to much pain and suffering today. If we asked ourselves: Have I ever acted on my freewill, and it lead to suffering?" Most of us would agree that we have. The same God who created the heavens and the Earth gave all mankind a will.

In a sea of what ifs-I have experienced a good God in my life. I have seen him provide when there was no food. I have seen bills paid, and wonder how it would happen- but God! I have watched a good God raise my two-pound baby, who seemed lifeless, to perfect health. That is a good God. This is someone who is full of love and compassion. No man or woman upon the Earth can fathom this endless love. I am reminded of a bible verse that says, "I would have lost heart had I not seen the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living."
How many are saying that today? I must see goodness in this land, or I feel like I will not make it another moment. Where is goodness? All that is pure and good comes from a good God.

I realize many would debate this issue. Many can't see any good, or refuse to see that God is good. In the midst of overwhelming darkness, it is hard to see the light. Where fear abounds, it is hard to find peace. As pain grips on a daily basis it leaves us asking is God really good? Why is there so much pain? Through sorrow, tears, and pain, God is still good. God does not dictate orders and everyone does not do what is good or fair. However, Goes is still on the throne, and he will have the final word.

When I think of good, I think of something that brings me joy. When I think of God, I have joy. There are many things that do not pertain to life or godliness, that make someone happy. When I think of happy I think of a simple smile. When I think of joy I think of the smile that makes you show all your teeth. The big smile on my face lets me know that God is good. If days come when you doubt this, just look around at all creation. When he formed the world he looked at it and said it is good. He has a good plan for our lives, to gives a hope and a future. Let us not underestimate his goodness. Let our understanding be enlightened to his marvelous love. When the day is done, and we lay down again; may each of us say that God is good.
