Sometimes I don't know how to feel...
walking, I see the rain that falls in the desert of my dreams
each drop falling like a tear
the fabric beneath my feet ripping into oblivion
as I look above and gaze into the face of two moons,
I feel a memory arise in me
one day I saw you look into my eyes
and in that enthralling moment, I knew you were the one
my cornea reflected this vivid guide to me
and as I walk these barren sands,
I remember the temple steps, vast and beautiful
we walked hand in hand
it seemed like days before we reached the top of that levitating, holy facade
sitting on the edge of the starlit skyline so purple
here I rest, calling out across the desolate terrain,
watching a retrograde orbit just above my celestial body
can I look myself in the eye and wake from this marvelous vision?
do I have the courage to become the bird I have sought after?
luckily, in this place
I don't need the help of flesh and feathers to guide me home
take a step off the edge and be who, what, where I wish
there is a window off in the distance
close in my mind but far in the plane that I exist
step off and you will see once again
floating between the air and space, blooming like a lotus,
intravenously surrendering in my whole
to the yielding travesty of this place
let the world pass through, emerge and open back among the light
once more under the stars
