Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup (like grandma used to make)

One whole fryer chicken (clean, remove innards and dry)
Garlic cloves
a large onion
1 bay leaf
2 carrots
2 stalks of celery
1 package of wide noodles

In a large pot, add clean fryer chicken, three cloves of garlic (smashed), one bay leaf, 1 carrot, 1 celery stalk, an onion, and add quite a bit of salt and pepper to season (unless on a low salt diet). Fill the pot of water past the chicken and boil for about an hour or until done. Pull the chicken out of the water and let sit until cool enough to handle. Shred the chicken.

Strain the broth and keep three cups for soup. Cut one carrot and one celery stalk into bite-sized pieces. Add to broth. Bring back to a boil. Add shredded chicken and noodles. Simmer until noodles and vegetables are tender about 14 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
