So your man just brought home some fish he had caught today, and now he wants you to cook them up, but you don't even know how to fillet and cook the fish up. That's OK; just follow my simple how-to guide below and you will soon have an awesome fish dinner for you and your man.
The first thing you want to do is take out a fillet knife and a cutting board and place the fish onto the board on the fishes side with the belly facing you. Then you want to take the fish by the mouth and hold the fish steady and remove all the fins from the fish using your fillet knife. Once you have removed the fins from the fish you will then take the fish and cut a straight steady smooth cut through the belly of the fish by simply taking your knife and sliding it from the head on the fish straight down through the tail. Once you have sliced the fish open you should be able to open the fish up neatly all the way and be able to see all the guts of the fish. All you need to do to remove the guts from the fish is to scrap and cut the guts out using your fillet knife until the fish is all cleaned out. The next thing you will be able to see once you remove all the guts and stomach contents are the bones and all you need to do is gently pull up on the bones towards you and remove the bones from the fish. Once you have removed the guts and the bones of the fish all you will need to do is wash the fish under cold water and cut the fish into steak like pieces of meat. That is all there is to filleting a fish.
The second thing you will need to do is cook the fish. Now there are many ways of cooking fish, but the best way is in the oven in a non stick casserole dish. All you do is take your filleted fish and place them into the dish and add a cup of butter, the juice of a lemon, salt and pepper, and bread crumbs or crumbed Ritz crackers onto the top of the fish and bake in the oven for about twenty five to thirty minutes on four hundred degrees. The other way to cook fish is in a non stick frying pan by placing a little butter inside the pan and seasoning the fish with seasoning and then placing the fish skin side down until crispy on both sides of the fish on medium heat. This usually takes about four minutes on each side. The third way of cooking the fish is on the grill. Now to cook the fish on the grill you will need some aluminum foil and then you will need to place the fish in the center of the aluminum foil and will need to add some butter, seasoning, and the juice of a lemon, and then you will need to wrap the aluminum foil with the fish in it up tightly and place it on the grill to cook for about ten or fifteen minutes. You will know the fish is done cooking because you will be able to put a fork through the fish and have the fish flake off the fork easily. That's all there is to cooking a fish.
After following the instruction on how to fillet and cook a fish you should have an awesome fish dinner for you and your man to enjoy. I hope this information on how to fillet and cook a fish is helpful to you. I know this information helped me out when I needed it!
