Thankfully we have a VA-backed loan otherwise, I'm not sure anyone would believe all of this.
We purchased our home through a real estate contract. In 1997 we refinanced through our bank. At that time, the name of the bank was Community First. We still have an account there, but there was a time where it seemed like banks just changed their name from day to day. For various reasons Community First has changed it's name or been bought 3 times since 1997. At some point during their name changes, they sold the note to our mortgage. The mortgage was sold to three or four other banks, who also for various reasons were changing their names.
In addition to the name changes, just because your note is sold does not mean that the bank that buys the note is "servicing" the note. This is how we became involved with Wells Fargo. Washington Mutual now owns our note, but Wells Fargo is the servicer.

Then, one day without any notice, they claimed that not taking partial payments was "policy."
Another aggravating policy was to call me twice a month, as a "courtesy" to inquire if I would like to make my payment through "check by phone." This happened even if my account was paid on time. I told them twice a month, for two years that we did not have a checking account. Then I stopped telling them and stopped answering the phone. This really made them mad.
Then another "policy" was added where not only can't you make partial payments, but when you make your payment it had to fully catch up all payments or they
