Create Beautiful Memories

Flowers and candy last for a moment, whereas, a gift you make yourself will have sentimental value that will be enjoyed and appreciated. A gift of love that you create yourself will be one of a kind and much more special to your love than a gift that is purchased at the store.

Over the years, my husband and I have given each other gifts of love that we made. These gifts have ranged from gifts as simple as poems and cards, to gifts that took a lot of work such as a mini hot air balloon replica that my husband made for me and other more risque gifts we have made for each other.

Cards:

A card you make for your sweetheart will mean much more than a store bought card. When you create your own card, you can write your own sweet nothings in it. A homemade card decorated with a picture of the two of you will become a treasure forever.

Lingerie:

Women love to wear lingerie and men love to see women in lingerie. I know how much my husband loves it when I buy new lingerie. I always try to buy something sexy to wear for my husband on Valentines Day.

Last year money was tight so I got some ideas for lingerie and made my own. The simple little outfit I created at the last minute left my husband speechless. Of course now he knows I can make things like that and he likes my home-made lingerie better than those the stores carry. Which means he wants me to make more of my own.

Poetry:

Taking the time to write a poem for your sweetheart is something that will be treasured for years to come. One year I wrote the story of our love in the form of a poem. I printed it on a piece of paper with one of our wedding pictures as the background. This is something that my husband can keep forever and when we are old and gray, we can read it and remember our story of young love.

Sweet Treats:

Sweet goodies do not have to come in a box from the store. Your sweetheart will love it if you cook up some sweet goodies just for him or her. Some that we have made over the years have included heart shaped candies and mini heart shaped cream filled cakes with candy coating.

You can find mini heart shaped pans and candy molds in the Valentines section of most stores during the month of February.

Special Dinners:

You could always get creative with a romantic candle light dinner and make some of the food in the shape of hearts. It is easy to create a heart shaped Kiesh. All you need is an easy Kiesh recipe and a heart shaped pan. Using cookie cutters you can cut bread into heart shapes add heart shaped butter pats for the bread, toss a salad and you have a simple yet romantic Valentines Day dinner.

What ever you make your home-made Valentines are sure to create beautiful memories.
