Reflections: Is industrial civilization killing the planet?

Wow to actually be arrogant enough to think that we could "Kill the Planet"! first this planet has been here for billions of years over 99% of the species that has lived on this planet are now extinct. Yet what makes us think that if we create and environment that will kill us that it will
kill the planet.

Life has adapted to every environment on this planet from the deepest point in the ocean to

the highest point in the mountains life has found a way to adapt, overcome and even thrive
in some of the most inhospitable environments know to man.

This Planet in its lifetime has seen many species rise and fall from the dinosaurs on to us
yet the planet has survived LIFE has been all but wiped out many times from meteor impacts Ice
ages to extreme warming the one thing that remains a constant on this planet is change the world we know is always changing from mountains rise on the plains only to disappear under the burden of time. even the great monument that man has built to his own glory overtime disappear taken over by the jungle, the sandstorm or the flood with no trace they have ever been there until someone digs around in his back yard and comes up with a broken piece of pottery or some other artifact.

The point is that long after we have gone the world will still be here and teaming with life
that has adapted to the environment we have left it who knows maybe even man will still be here but instead of breathing oxygen we will be breathing carbon dioxide.

Lastly the evils of Industrial Civilization can be expounded on all day long but I will try to
keep it short, Thanks to those dirty rotten Industrial nations we know have a life expectancy of roughly 80 years, Wow and to think that only a hundred years ago it was 35, and look what
else they have done people are surviving disease that was considered to be incurable only 50 years ago, man can now survive in the most extreme environments thanks to the invention of modern heating and cooling, oh and lets not forget the advances in agriculture that allows one
farmer to feed thousands of people, and Refrigeration that allows that food to be stored and kept fresh longer, and look at travel at the turn of the 20th century it would take you a couple to days to travel 20 to 30 miles but now its only a few minutes drive.

The last word that I have to say is this, If you think Industrial Civilization is such a bad
thing then give it up, by all means go live in a cave, Who knows if all the tree hugging nuts
out there would get off the grid, quit driving, and live like they want the rest of us to live
then we could save BILLIONS each year in Energy
