First-date safety tips for women

Times have changed over the years to how people can meet each other. There are now Internet chat rooms, friends united, personal advert columns and various dating agencies and many different Blog sites all giving us the opportunity to meet people we might never of meet otherwise due to the geographic logistics of our lives.

The first date is so exciting and on the other hand nerve racking, finally you are meeting in person. You have shared special written conversations, spoken on the phone, a kind of spiritual bond as developed over time. The next natural step is to meet up. Everyone will have build up an image of the other person in their own mind.

You may only know the behavior they wish you to see, although there are nice people there also some manipulative people out there. Keep a open mind they may turn out to be the person of your dreams.

There is nothing wrong with taking some precautions, keeping personal safety a priority, without feelings of paranoia. There is quite a few safety precautions that can betaken. Being safe and having fun are both just as important. It's unrealistic to live in a personal cocoon because of fears of having personal safety compromised.

* What to wear.
Searching through your wardrobe looking for the right outfit, something that will not give the wrong message. Keeping in mind the kind of statement do you what say.

* Whistle:
Just in case, your safety may become compromised and the need to attract attention of other people. The noise will frighten the other person who might just run off.

* Have A Back up Plan:

~ Tell someone where you are going and what time you you will be back.

~ Check that the phone is fully charged and has enough credit to use. Have a number of a reliable taxi firm on quick dial. A friend's number is also on speed dial. Ask them to phone you an hour into the date, then you can decide wither all is going well. If there is chemistry and a possible second date you may choose to stay. On the other hand there is an opportunity to make an excuse and leave.

~ Transport to and from the date.

~ Arrange a time to meet at the chosen venue. Arrive early to check things out and be there when they walk in. Take your own car and park in a public area or ask someone to drop you off and wait a few minutes.

* Drinking or Dining:

~ Agree to go Dutch for a few first dates, so the arrangement is equal.

~ Do not leave your drink or food unattended making it easy to spike it with some kind of substance.

~ Watch the amount you are drinking, alcohol can effect your usual sane judgments.

~ Choose a drink that you have had before and do not be tempted to mix your drinks.

~ Choose somewhere there are other people, but not too many that you may go unnoticed if you run into any problems.

Be honest yourself without giving out to much personal information. Where you or any friends live, or where you work or go to school. You may decide not to see each other again.

Remain in charge of the situation, and listen and trust your inner voice, do not make excuses for any strange behavior. Never doubt that inner voice. Just be on your guard and be safe.

The purpose of the date is to enjoy yourself, it is possible to have fun and still be aware of personal safety.
