The history of affirmative action laws in the US

I understand that there was once a time when affirmative action was needed for equal rights of employment. But in this day and age of black entertainment, is it really needed. I have several black friends that would be very offended to think that they got their job just because of the color of their skin and to fill a quota of how many ethnic workers a company must employ. I think there are too many race related "special" programs. There is a scholarship program for just about any race. Is this not a form of discrimination against the Caucasian race. I can honestly say that growing up as a poor white man that lived in the ethnic parts of towns that I have been discriminated against just so the business that I was dealing with would not be accused of discrimination. Those that would scream discrimination would scream it no matter what they were denied on. I have had to apply for welfare before and got very little assistance even though I was in just as much need as my black neighbor that received a lot more than I did with the same amount of children. Why was it because I am white and therefore I should not need as much assistance. It has caused me to find ways to survive without asking for assistance from my government that has failed all Americans.

Affirmative Action is a law that we have outgrown. There are more opportunities for all races in this country than ever before. I would have a better chance of getting into a college if my last name was Mohammad or my skin was darker. But because I am white, no one wants to give me any money to go to school. As a matter of fact, they want to give me financial assistance but they want me to spend the rest of my life paying back those loans. Why does so much have to be defined by race in a country that claims to be about equality? Could it be that our government really doesn't want us to be equal? Could it be that the government would rather keep the races fighting against each other? Could it be that our government wants a race war so that they can instate an act of marshal law and imprison the entire country? Has Affirmative Action helped race relations in this country. I would say that it has not, at least not in the last couple of decades. I would say that the Rap/Hip-Hop movement has done more for advancing race relations over the last couple of decades than anything the government has done in the last five decades. It has unified young blacks and whites more than any federal mandate ever could have done. Isn't that a what affirmative Action was meant to accomplish; equality?

Why would you want to hire some one less qualified for the position they are applying for just because of the color of their skin? Would that not result in an inferior product? Maybe that is one of the reasons for American manufacturing corporations shifting production of formerly American made goods to China and other countries that would create the same quality for less money. I did not say the only reason, there are many, but those are totally different subjects. Why don't we just forget about what race we are, because in the end we all belong to the human race.
