The Voyager LG Vx10000 has been called Verizon's version of the iphone. In addition to being a high performance cell phone, this phone can easily replace your music player and GPS navigation device. You can view websites (and not just basic ones formatted for cell phones), check email, use three different instant messagers, take short videos and take pictures with the 2.0 megapixel camera.
The outside touch screen is large, clear and bright enough to be seen in daylight, though not direct sunlight. The Voyager flips open length-wise to reveal another full size screen and the largest QWERTY keyboard I've ever seen on a phone. Even with all its functionality, it is still on 4 inches by 2 inches by 3/4 inches. The design is simple and sleek. It may not fit in the pocket of a girl's skinny jeans, but carrying it with you should never be a burden.
The Voyager has some internal memory about enough to hold 37 full-length songs. However, it has a microSD card slot that can handle up to an 8GB card. The software required to transfer music and data from your computer to the Voyager is easy to use. Songs, pictures, and videos can also be downloaded through V Cast.
Mobile TV is ideal for entertainment while waiting for the bus or a doctor's appointment. Some stations are included from Verizon, but you have the option of subscribing to additional stations. You can watch short clips from your favorite TV shows, sports games, news, music videos, and more. The standard headphones that double as a handless set are perfect for if someone calls you in the middle of a song or TV clip.
For me, the VZ Navigator is indispensible. It gives you turn-by-turn directions, saves your favorite places to allow one-touch navigation, and has a full range of settings. If someone else you know has VZ Navigator you can even send a location to their phone so they can be guided to it! The speakers are good enough to hear the directions if you don't have your car radio on. The speakers are on the inside, so they are slightly quieter if you close the phone to use only the external screen.
After using the Voyager for three months I can tell you that it is not without its minor faults. The touch screen is a little less responsive than I expected, especially when using the scrolling function. The calendar only allows for input of the day, time and a 32-character description. The character limit usually doesn't allow for both the name and place of the event. Also, the touch screen is easily scratched; I highly recommend getting screen protectors.
Overall, purchasing a Voyager LG Vx10000 is definitely worth it, but only if you plan on utilizing most of its functions. If you are only going to use it as a phone and nothing more, it is too much phone for you. If you are a busy person on-the-go, this phone can certainly help you increase your productivity while still being fun.
