"WHAT'S 'MERRY CHRISTMAS'"!
We've been hearing lately how municipalities have been trying to take away Christmas displays, urged to do so by people who are non-Christians. Yet, we have been seeing their displays going up without incident, except perhaps for some sort of revenge. Out of this, I've read some reactions to support 'MERRY CHRISTMAS' without offending anyone. If one is a true Christian, 'MERRY CHRISTMAS' most certainly means to include JESUS CHRIST, but it need not always, since I believe Christians mean to extend a 'MERRY CHRISTMAS SEASON' to ALL. Shall we have a 'MERRY JEWMAS', or a 'MERRY BUDDHAMAS', 'MERRY ALLAHMAS', what-have-you?
It's interesting that this year 2005, Hanukkah started on Christmas Day, or I should say - Christmas Evening. This has not happened since 1959! A long time, more than most people have lived! So, both Christians and Jews can celebrate a week IN COMMON, Hanukkah ending the evening of January 2nd, just about when our Christmas week ends, which includes New Years (2006). Of course, there are those who celebrate 'THE TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS', which extends nearly a week MORE into January.

A Merry Christmas is maybe WHAT ONE LOOKS for, or maybe IT LOOKING FOR YOU. BOTH! It seems to me if we take it in, we'll more LIKELY experience a Merry Christmas, MERRY DAYS, up to and including New Years! After all, the birth of the Christ Child BEGAN YEAR ONE! It IS New Years! It's just that we set the celebrations apart - a Christmas holiday the week before, and a New Year holiday the week after - BOTH TIED INTO THE OTHER, the REASONING of it.
We have, over the past few decades, had Christmas CARDS that range in ways of wishing "MERRY CHRISTMAS', including "SEASON'S GREETINGS", "HAPPY HOLIDAYS". Some Criticize this as TAKING AWAY from Christmas, but it really DOESN'T! These cards actually ADD to Merry Christmas, if one is willing to UNDERSTAND, read between the LINES, knowing it is the will of God for us to ENJOY - "JOY TO THE WORLD", and yes - the Christ Child is born, but to EXPERIENCE JOY GENERALLY, with the hope of GOD'S LIGHT TO SHINE, on behalf of ALL RELIGIONS! There is but One God, and a particular religion adds Christ, a way and
